Cairo, Nov. 5 (Petra) -- Jordan took part on Wednesday in the 10th joint meeting between the Permanent Representatives to the League of Arab States and the Ambassadors of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union, held at the EU headquarters in Brussels.
Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, reaffirmed during the session the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to dialogue and multilateral cooperation as essential tools for addressing regional and global challenges. He emphasized Jordan’s consistent position favoring political solutions to conflicts and the importance of collective international action to promote peace and stability.
In his remarks during the consultations between Arab and European representatives, Adaileh underscored the centrality of the Palestinian issue, calling for concerted efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and put an end to unilateral Israeli violations. He stressed that advancing a clear roadmap, supported by regional and international actors, is vital to restoring hope and paving the way toward a just and lasting peace.
The ambassador also highlighted the importance of supporting stability in Syria, describing it as a cornerstone of regional and international security. He called for enhanced efforts to rebuild the Syrian state, preserve its territorial integrity, and safeguard the well-being of its citizens.
The meeting was co-chaired by the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Hamad Al-Zaabi, and Chair of the EU Political and Security Committee, Ambassador Delphine Pronk.
Participants discussed ways to strengthen Arab-European coordination and deepen political consultation channels between the two sides. The agenda included priority regional issues such as the Palestinian question and developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen, as well as broader humanitarian and security challenges.
Concluding the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to addressing political, economic, social, and security challenges that threaten stability in the wider region. They also emphasized the importance of expanding the Arab-European partnership as a key pillar of regional cooperation and collective response.
