Doha, November 3 (Petra) – Prime Minister Jafar Hassan met on Monday in Doha, Qatar, with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Hassan and Al Thani discussed strengthening the deep-rooted ties. Hassan reviewed Jordan's strategic projects in the sectors of energy, transport, water, tourism and infrastructure, highlighting opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in these areas.

They affirmed their mutual commitment to maintaining coordination and expanding economic cooperation in a manner that serves the shared interests of both nations and their peoples.

Discussions touched on regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue. Hassan urged full adherence to the ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of all its provisions, ensuring the continued and adequate delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the enclave.

He called for halting the escalating Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank and launching a political process leading to establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution.

The meeting took place ahead of Hassan's participation, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted by Doha and organised by the UN, with wide international participation.

Hassan praised Al Thani for Qatar's efforts in hosting the summit.

The meeting was attended by Jordan's Ambassador to Qatar, Zaid Lozi.
