Istanbul, November 3 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi participated on Monday in a ministerial meeting on Gaza held in Istanbul at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The meeting brought together the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Pakistan, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar and a Minister of State from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Discussions focused on efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure full implementation of its provisions, facilitate the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid and address issues related to the future governance and security of Gaza, as well as concrete steps toward achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

Safadi called for full compliance with the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and addressing the devastating humanitarian consequences of the conflict. He emphasised linking stabilisation efforts to a political horizon that achieves a just and comprehensive peace grounded in the two-state solution.

Safadi highlighted the necessity of ensuring sufficient and sustainable humanitarian assistance to Gaza, removing Israeli restrictions on its entry and advancing within a comprehensive framework that guarantees security, stability and reconstruction.

The minister expressed Jordan's appreciation for the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in helping achieve the ceasefire agreement and for his vision toward peace in the region.

He commended the roles played by Egypt, Qatar and Turkey in facilitating the agreement, ensuring its consolidation and initiating the implementation of its second phase.

Safadi thanked his Turkish counterpart for hosting the meeting of Arab and Islamic countries whose leaders had met with the U.S. President on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly last September.

He called for halting the dangerous escalation and illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, warning that the Israeli actions undermine prospects for peace and threaten regional stability.

The ministers agreed to maintain intensive consultations and coordination, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to strengthen the ceasefire and ensure the successful implementation of the agreement's next phase.
