Aqaba, Nov. 5 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) held discussions with a delegation from the Georgian Businessmen Association to strengthen economic, investment, and tourism cooperation between Jordan and Georgia.

The meeting was chaired by ASEZA’s Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Investment, Mohammad Abu Omar, and attended by Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs, Thabet Hassan Al-Nabulsi, Director of Investor Services, Saber Aliwa, and Director of Investment Promotion, Engineer Mohammad Al-Hasanat.

Discussions focused on expanding bilateral collaboration across various sectors and exploring the potential launch of low-cost flight routes connecting Aqaba with major Georgian cities. The meeting also reviewed ASEZA’s comprehensive package of incentives and facilities for investors, designed to streamline procedures, accelerate project implementation, and enhance service delivery.

Abu Omar reaffirmed ASEZA’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with the global business community, particularly with Georgia, to broaden avenues of cooperation in investment and sustainable economic development. He emphasized that Aqaba offers a competitive and flexible investment environment with promising opportunities in industry, tourism, logistics, and energy, in line with Jordan’s national development goals.

Al-Nabulsi highlighted Aqaba’s distinctive tourism potential and attractive investment climate, noting that the region’s unique natural and logistical advantages position it as an ideal hub for innovative tourism and hospitality projects.

For his part, the head of the Georgian Businessmen Association delegation expressed keen interest in identifying investment opportunities and developing partnerships in tourism, manufacturing, and trade services.

Both sides agreed to maintain continuous coordination, exchange visits, and organize joint forums to explore new areas of cooperation. The discussions concluded with a shared commitment to deepening economic ties, promoting sustainable development, and advancing mutual investment between Jordan and Georgia.
