Over 60 Countries Sign UN’s First Treaty to Fight Cybercrime

Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra) More than 60 countries signed the United Nations’ first treaty to fight cybercrime on Saturday in Hanoi.
The agreement establishes an international legal framework to enhance global cooperation in combating cybercrime, which ranges from child exploitation to fraud and money laundering.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the "important step," describing it as "just the beginning." Speaking at the signing ceremony in the Vietnamese capital, Guterres said, "Every day, sophisticated scams defraud families, steal from migrants, and drain billions of dollars from our economy We need a strong, coordinated global response." //Petra// AF
