Amman, Sep.30 (Petra) - The Higher Steering Committee for the National Social Protection Strategy convened on Tuesday, chaired by Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa, to discuss priorities for the next phase.

Committee members and heads of technical teams from ministries and partner institutions attended the dialogue.

During the meeting held at the Ministry's headquarters, Bani Mustafa checked on progress in implementing the National Social Protection Strategy (2025-2033), stressing its alignment with Jordan's economic modernization path, in accordance with the Royal directives.

Bani Mustafa said the meeting focused on the previous achievements, future steps, and the key priorities and initiatives under implementation during the next phase.

On future vision, she announced work is underway to prepare a draft of the Social Responsibility Bylaw, a monitoring and assessment system, and a communication strategy.

The minister called for enhancing enagagement of Jordanian associations, the voluntary bodies, and civil society institutions in the social protection sector.

Bani Mustafa referred to milestones in terms of expanding services provided in the field of shelter alternatives for people with disabilities, as well as "professionalizing" social action.

Additionally, she noted the importance of ongoing cooperation with National Center for Security and Crisis Management, within the "Resilience" axis, regarding the early social warning system for crises and shocks.

Bani Mustafa noted the "effective" partnership among all Jodan's ministries and institutions, which have intersecting roles, calling for integrating efforts with the private sector, civil society organizations, and all partners.

In turn, committee members went over the priorities of the next phase, which would contribute to expanding inclusion for the target groups.

The team also noted progress in the inclusive education and social health insurance fields, within the framework of service sustainability under the strategy's axes: Dignity, Empowerment, Opportunity, and Resilience.
