Amman, Dec. 5 (Petra)-- Lower House Speaker, Mazen Al-Qadi, joined members of the Christian community in lighting the Christmas tree at the Greek Orthodox Church in Karak.

The event was attended by MP Haitham Ziyadin, community representatives, and a large number of residents from the governorate.

Al-Qadi offered warm congratulations on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, praying that the season returns to the Jordanian people with love and peace.

He emphasized that Jordan represents a unique model of coexistence between Muslims and Christians partners in building the nation, united in defending its values and noble message.

This shared spirit, he noted, is rooted in the principles of love and tolerance embodied by His Majesty King Abdullah II, ensuring that Jordan’s national fabric remains strong and resilient.

Al-Qadi added that the Kingdom has become a haven of security, harmony, and prosperity, with its citizens advancing confidently on the path of national development, firmly committed to safeguarding the country’s achievements.

He concluded by expressing pride in the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem carried steadfastly by His Majesty King Abdullah II which has preserved the identity of the sacred city in the face of all attempts to alter its legal and historical status.
