Amman, Dec. 4 (Petra) – The Audit Bureau took part in the 15th General Assembly of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The participation reflects the Bureau’s commitment to strengthening its engagement within the Arab audit system, in the presence of heads of supreme audit institutions from Arab countries and representatives of regional and international organizations.

During the meetings, the President of the Audit Bureau Radi Hamadin underlined the importance of enhancing professional cooperation among Arab oversight bodies, exchanging expertise, and advancing auditing practices in accordance with international standards. He said these efforts support improved performance efficiency and reinforce accountability and transparency in public finance management.

He also highlighted the need for audit institutions to keep pace with rapid technological developments and modernize oversight mechanisms to address emerging financial and administrative challenges.

The Assembly reviewed the Executive Council’s report on ARABOSAI’s activities during the previous session, followed up on the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2023–2028, examined financial statements, adopted upcoming programs and plans, and elected the new Executive Council.

Member states discussed reports from the specialized technical committees on professional standards, capacity building, information technology, and the Sustainable Development Goals, with the aim of strengthening the Arab oversight system and increasing institutional readiness for future challenges. The Jordanian Audit Bureau was selected as the financial auditor for ARABOSAI’s activities and reports for 2025–2027.

Hamadin also participated in a technical seminar held on the sidelines of the Assembly, which focused on Arab oversight bodies’ experiences in capacity building and human resource development. The seminar addressed modern practices in competency development, impact measurement of training programs, and successful institutional capacity-building models aligned with international standards, particularly ISSAI 150.

The General Assembly’s agenda will additionally include the graduation of the first cohort of the "Arab Certified Auditor Fellowship Program," the first program of its kind among Arab supreme audit institutions. The program, offered by the General Auditing Bureau of Saudi Arabia in its capacity as ARABOSAI chair and implemented through the Saudi Center for Financial Auditing and Performance Monitoring, seeks to develop professional competencies in financial, compliance, and performance auditing.

ARABOSAI’s General Assembly convenes every three years as the organization’s highest authority, responsible for approving policies and strategic and financial plans. The organization includes the supreme audit institutions of the Arab League member states and serves as the main institutional platform for oversight cooperation in the Arab region.
