Yarmouk University Concludes "GEBYAR 2025" for Southeast Asian Students

Irbid, Nov. 3 (Petra) -- Yarmouk University concluded the vibrant festivities of "GEBYAR 2025", an annual cultural event organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in partnership with the Indonesian Students Association in Irbid. The celebration brought together students from across Southeast Asia in a colorful display of art, heritage, and friendship.

In a statement issued Monday, University President Malik Al-Shraideh reaffirmed Yarmouk’s commitment to supporting initiatives that highlight cultural exchange and inclusivity on campus. He emphasized that such events play a vital role in shaping well-rounded student personalities, cultivating leadership and teamwork, and strengthening bonds among local and international students.

"Yarmouk University is more than just an academic institution; it’s a crossroads of cultures and ideas," Al-Shraideh said, stressing the university’s continued dedication to fostering creativity, cultural identity, and innovation.

Speaking on behalf of the Indonesian Students Association, its president expressed deep appreciation to the university’s administration for its ongoing support of international students. He noted that GEBYAR 2025 offered a valuable platform for students to share traditions, learn from one another, and build lasting cross-cultural connections.

The festival featured artistic and cultural performances from students representing Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, including traditional dances, musical numbers, and folk presentations that showcased the richness of each nation’s heritage. The event also included friendly sports competitions and interactive games that brought students together in a spirit of camaraderie and positive energy.

At the closing ceremony, Al-Shraideh honored the winning participants, commending their creativity and enthusiasm throughout the event.

"GEBYAR 2025", the statement added, is part of Yarmouk University’s broader mission to create a campus environment that celebrates diversity, encourages cultural dialogue, and inspires students to explore their potential through shared experiences and creativity.
