Amman, Oct. 31 (Petra)-- The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that a report was received by the Operations Room indicating that four people were trapped inside a water well about seven meters deep in the Al-Alaal area of Irbid Governorate.

He added that specialized teams from the East Irbid Civil Defense Directorate, supported by the International Search and Rescue Team and the police, immediately responded to the scene.

The four individuals were pulled out of the well and transported to the hospital for treatment, but two of them were later pronounced dead. An investigation into the incident has been opened.

The Media and Community Policing Department urged citizens not to lower water pumps that operate on petroleum products into wells, to ensure the safety and quality of the ropes used in cleaning operations, and to seek the assistance of qualified specialists when cleaning wells if necessary.
