Amman, Nov. 4 (Petra) -- Minister of Investment Tariq Abu Ghazaleh met on Tuesday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Jordan, Stella Kluth, to discuss strengthening economic and investment ties between the two countries, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to diversify Jordan’s international partnerships.
Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the strategic economic partnership between Jordan and the Netherlands, noting the ministry’s efforts to expand investment in priority sectors and explore new opportunities under the Economic Modernization Vision, particularly in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, food industries, and tourism.
He said Dutch investments in Jordan totaled approximately $1.2 billion by 2023, spanning around 80 companies operating in electricity, gas, construction, and manufacturing, with capital estimated at $556 million. The ministry is working to attract further Dutch investment through incentives and regulatory frameworks under the new Investment Law, enhancing investor confidence and market growth.
Kluth commended Jordan’s economic stability and the ministry’s initiatives to develop the business environment, expressing the Netherlands’ interest in deepening cooperation in modern agriculture, water management, industrial innovation, and clean energy.
Both sides agreed on the need to maintain coordination between relevant institutions and activate existing agreements, including the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement and the European Union Association Agreement, to strengthen trade and expand mutual investments.
