Amman, Nov. 4 (Petra) -- Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Tuesday and Qatari Ambassador Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani on Tuesday discussed bilateral relations, particularly in the parliamentary field.
During the meeting held at the House's headquarters, Qadi and the ambassador emphasized the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Qatari ties, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar.
According to a House statement, the two sides called for maintaining ongoing communication and consultation to serve the interests of both nations and peoples.
Qadi and Al Thani said bilateral relations are "a model of cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and appreciation," noting that the countries share "firm" brotherly ties, based on common interests and service of Arab causes.
Qadi affirmed the Lower House’s keenness to deepen parliamentary cooperation with the Qatari Shura Council, highlighting the outcomes of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan’s meeting yesterday with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani as a step to advance joint economic relations.
For his part, Al Thani praised Jordan’s positions under the King's leadership, reiterating Qatar’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and its commitment to promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
