Karak, Nov. 2 (Petra) -- In conjunction with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Karak, Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Sunday inaugurated two projects implemented under Royal Initiatives in the governorate.
In the Mujib area of Al-Qasr District, Issawi opened the Mujib Garments Factory, affiliated with Elzay Ready Wear Manufacturing Company, established as part of the Royal Initiative for production branches and units.
Issawi, accompanied by Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar, Karak Governor Qablan Sharif, Elzay General Manager Abdulrahman Bani Hani, and head of the Talal Municipality Committee Raed Khatatbah, toured the factory’s facilities.
During the tour, Bani Hani briefed Issawi on the factory’s operations, noting that it currently comprises two production lines equipped with 126 machines, producing about 500 pieces per day, with capacity expected to rise to 1,000 pieces daily after adding a third production line.
Bani Hani stated that the factory currently employs 95 local workers, all Jordanians from nearby towns and villages, with employment expected to increase to 220 jobs within the first year once the factory reaches full production capacity.
Female employees expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for the Royal Initiative, which provided them with job opportunities that improved their families’ living conditions and enhanced their economic and social empowerment.
In the town of Al-Rabba in Al-Qasr District, Issawi, in the presence of the Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Education and Higher Education (acting), along with the Governor of Karak, inaugurated Al-Rabba Secondary School for Boys, constructed upon Royal directives.
Issawi toured the school’s 2,500-square-meter facility, which serves 460 students and provides a modern learning environment with extracurricular facilities. The school includes 16 spacious classrooms, scientific and computer laboratories, a modern theater, a five-a-side football field, a library, and outdoor spaces. It was designed and built according to the latest standards set by the Ministry of Education to ensure an ideal educational setting.
Students of Al-Rabba Secondary School expressed their gratitude and pride in the Royal gesture that led to the establishment of a modern educational institution meeting the needs of the learning process and providing a comfortable, motivating environment.
Issawi stressed that inaugurating these two projects in conjunction with His Majesty’s visit reflects the implementation of Royal directives aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life and enhancing service levels across sectors.
He noted that Royal Initiative projects cover multiple sectors, including education, health, housing, and economic empowerment, implemented in complementarity with government programs and plans.
Issawi added that the garment factory creates new job opportunities for the local community, while Al-Rabba School offers an integrated educational environment, underscoring that these projects embody the enduring Royal vision that places the Jordanian individual at the heart of national priorities and reinforces the principles of justice, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity.
