Amman, Sept. 23 (Petra) – Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said the ongoing events in Gaza are a "living example of genocide and ethnic cleansing, an open wound on the human conscience that cannot be ignored." Delivering his speech on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) during an emergency UN Security Council session on the Middle East, Sheikh Sabah condemned Israel’s recent attacks on Qatar.
He stressed that a just and lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through a two-state solution, grounded in international legitimacy, including UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. This solution, he said, is the only way to end the occupation, safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kuwaiti Crown Prince warned against attempts to undermine or bypass this solution through settlement expansion, forced displacement, and imposing facts on the ground. He called on the international community and the Security Council to fully assume their responsibilities to halt ongoing violations, ensure accountability for perpetrators, and uphold the inalienable Palestinian right to self-determination.
