Jordanian Women Entrepreneurs Explore Trade, Investment Opportunities in Germany

Amman, Oct. 5 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Al-Zoubi, led a delegation of Jordanian businesswomen to Germany representing sectors including consulting, manufacturing, food industries, packaging, logistics, engineering, medical supplies, and information technology.
The visit included several official meetings, events, and field visits to innovative German companies.
Al-Zoubi said in a statement on Sunday that the multi-day mission aimed to exchange expertise, build partnerships with the German business community, and explore future trade opportunities. The initiative, she noted, is part of government efforts to empower women, enhance their contribution to various sectors particularly the economic one and encourage their active participation at the local level.
She underscored the importance of the visit and the discussions held with representatives from both the German public and private sectors.
Al-Zoubi also highlighted key initiatives and projects implemented by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, especially in the areas of foreign trade, industrial development, e-commerce, and women’s economic empowerment. She noted the formation of a national task force dedicated to enabling women-owned enterprises to access a wider range of economic opportunities, recognizing women as key players in national development efforts.
During the visit, Al-Zoubi met with Christine Toetzke, Director-General at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, to discuss avenues of cooperation, ongoing partnership programs, and topics that support women’s economic participation.
The delegation also met with Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, Secretary-General of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who praised the organization of the unique delegation the first of its kind dedicated to Jordanian businesswomen highlighting its potential to boost women’s presence in Arab-German trade relations.
Al-Zoubi expressed her appreciation to Al-Mikhlafi for his efforts in supporting the mission and arranging key meetings that will help open doors for Jordanian businesswomen to enter the German market in the future.
She stressed the importance of expanding trade between Jordan and Germany and broadening cooperation in high-value industrial and service sectors.
Several bilateral meetings were also held between Jordanian businesswomen and their German counterparts, organized with the support of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussions focused on collaboration opportunities, knowledge exchange, and expanding business linkages between the two countries.
Al-Zoubi and the accompanying delegation also met with Jordan’s Ambassador to Germany, Fayez Khoury, who commended the mission as a landmark step that reflects the positive image and leadership of Jordanian women in various economic sectors. He emphasized the Ministry’s role in empowering businesswomen and opening new channels of cooperation with international partners, affirming the embassy’s readiness to provide all necessary support to strengthen Jordanian women’s participation in global economic forums.
The program also included field visits to several German companies and institutions, where participants learned about business practices and explored potential areas of cooperation.
