Amman, Nov. 4 (Petra) - Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Yazan Al-Khadeer, represented the Kingdom at the Arab Tourism Summit 2025 in London on Monday, held on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM) from November 4-6.
The opening session, titled "Bridging Global and Regional Tourism Experiences: Building Authentic Market Links and Cultural Bridges - Tourism as a Gateway of Opportunity Between the Middle East and the United Kingdom", was chaired by UK Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons Nusrat Ghani and featured Shabib Al-Maamari, CEO of Visit Oman, and Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar.
Addressing the session - attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to London Manar Dabbas - Al-Khadeer said the Kingdom’s tourism sector faced major headwinds in 2024 and 2025 due to regional instability that disrupted travel patterns. Despite these challenges, he said, Jordan once again demonstrated resilience and adaptability, emerging as a trusted destination for safe and authentic travel experiences.
He stressed that Jordan’s participation in leading international tourism forums reflects the ministry’s and the Jordan Tourism Board’s commitment to strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map. "The outlook for Jordan’s tourism sector is bright, and we are determined to keep the Kingdom among the world’s most attractive destinations," Al-Khadeer said, noting that innovation and community empowerment will remain central to the ministry’s 2026 strategy.
Panel discussions explored shifting cultural trends and evolving practices shaping the global travel industry. Al-Khudair highlighted flagship Jordanian tourism initiatives and unveiled plans for the rollout of a comprehensive tourism Super App - a digital platform integrating travel, hospitality, and local experience services within a unified ecosystem that places local communities at the heart of the visitor journey.
Al-Maamari outlined Visit Oman’s future strategies to boost inbound tourism and underscored the potential for deeper collaboration between Middle Eastern and UK markets across multiple segments of travel and hospitality.
The summit concluded with an awards ceremony honoring leading Arab entities in tourism and hospitality. The Jordan Heritage Revival Company received recognition for its pioneering role in enriching Jordan’s cultural tourism experience, empowering local communities, and generating sustainable employment.
Now in its 35th edition, the World Travel Market London brings together over 4,000 exhibitors from more than 180 countries and attracts around 45,000 global tourism professionals, serving as one of the world’s premier platforms for promoting destinations and fostering cross-border cooperation across the travel industry.
