Irbid, Sept. 22 (Petra) – Mutah University announced Monday that eight of its faculty researchers have been ranked among the top 2 percent of most-cited researchers worldwide, according to the Scopus database and Elsevier publishing house.

University President Salameh Al-Naimat said the achievement reflects Mutah University’s prestigious standing locally and internationally and highlights the contributions of its researchers in enhancing the university’s reputation and leadership in scientific research.

Dean of Scientific Research Osama Mohawesh emphasized that including eight researchers in the list demonstrates the university’s supportive research environment and commitment to innovation and high-quality scientific publishing. He added that the university will continue to build on these successes to serve both society and education.

Also on Monday, Mutah University hosted a delegation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) as part of a scheduled virtual visit. Al-Naimat noted that the university is advancing plans to enhance the quality of its education and align its programs with global standards, stressing that international accreditation is a tool to ensure competent teachers capable of contributing to the educational system and serving society. Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Qaraleh, Dean of the College of Educational Sciences, said the effort reflects collaborative work among faculty, students, administrators, schools, mentors, and alumni, marking a significant step in improving program quality and outcomes.

Meanwhile, Hashemite University invited newly admitted undergraduate students for the first semester of 2025/2026, listed in the Unified Admission Coordination Unit, to complete their registration and fee payments electronically via the university portal.

At Jadara University, President Habis Zboun congratulated students from the College of Information Technology for winning second place in the "Motion Sense AI Challenge," a national university-level competition organized by the IEEE Jordan Section in cooperation with MathWorks, featuring 180 students from 17 universities.

The team earned second place for their innovative project "Predicting Strokes Before they Happen," supervised by Salim Al-Zoubi, Head of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Department, with students Amer Ziyad Jaradat, Suleiman Faiz Al-Kasasbeh, and Haitham Hadi Marzouqa.

Another team, "Automated Control," ranked among the top ten, under the supervision of engineer Nada Al-Jarrah, with students Sara Raed Al-Rabadhi, Noor Abdulaziz Al-Attar, and Lujain Radwan Abbabneh.

Dean of the College of Information Technology, Bilal Zaqaibeh, said the success demonstrates the quality of the college’s graduates and their ability to compete in AI and robotics fields, praising the faculty for their guidance and support.

Jadara University also participated in the 5th International Sports Science Forum held in Beni Suef, Egypt, on Sept. 19–20, under the theme "Requirements of Sports Sciences in Light of Artificial Intelligence." The university was represented by Aisha Abbabneh, Mohammad Fawaz Al-Zoubi, and Abdulaziz Al-Azayzeh from the Faculty of Physical Education.
