Jordan, Tunisia Seek to Strengthen Agricultural Cooperation

Amman, Nov. 13 (Petra) -- Jordan and Tunisia are exploring opportunities to deepen agricultural cooperation, following a meeting between Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saeb Al-Khraisat, and Tunisia’s Ambassador to Jordan, Mofida Zaribi, on Thursday.
The discussions focused on facilitating the flow of agricultural goods and products between the two countries, promoting the exchange of scientific and technical expertise, and enhancing collaboration on joint projects funded by the European Union.
Key areas highlighted included post-harvest processes for citrus crops and the development of drought-resistant wheat varieties, aimed at boosting food security and agricultural productivity in both nations.
Officials also explored strategies to increase agricultural trade and encourage cooperation in modern farming practices and food processing, reinforcing the longstanding fraternal ties between Jordan and Tunisia.
Minister Al-Khraisat emphasized the strong bilateral relations and praised Tunisia’s advanced experience in agriculture and research.
Ambassador Zaribi expressed her appreciation for the ongoing collaboration and reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to expanding partnerships and sharing expertise to benefit both countries.
