Amman, Nov. 13 (Petra) – The Royal working visit to Vietnam featured notable economic activity, including the convening of the Jordan–Vietnam Business Forum, which brought together representatives of more than 25 Jordanian companies and senior leaders from the industrial and trade sectors in both countries.
The forum aimed to strengthen trade and investment cooperation and explore new prospects for public–private economic partnerships.
Held on the sidelines of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit to Vietnam, the forum comes as part of ongoing Royal efforts to expand Jordan’s partnership network across Asian markets and diversify economic relations with countries in the region, supporting national exports, attracting quality investments, and reinforcing Jordan’s position as a regional hub for business and trade.
The forum holds particular significance as an effective platform for enhancing private-sector communication between Jordan and Vietnam, examining ways to broaden economic cooperation, and capitalizing on available opportunities across promising sectors in a manner that serves the interests of both sides.
The Royal visit comes within the context of the strong diplomatic and economic ties established between Jordan and Vietnam since 1980, which have witnessed notable growth in bilateral cooperation. Trade exchange between the two countries reached approximately USD250 million in 2024, reflecting the expanding economic partnership.
On the sidelines of the visit, discussions focused on partnership opportunities in the apparel sector, where Jordan’s exports reached around USD2.4 billion in 2024, the majority destined for the United States.
A meeting was also held between representatives of leading Vietnamese apparel companies and their Jordanian counterparts to explore the establishment of integrated industrial ventures and to enhance cooperation between private-sector institutions in both countries.
This step marks a key milestone within Royal efforts to expand Jordan’s economic relations with Asian countries and diversify trade and investment partnerships in support of the national economy.
