Guterres Deeply Saddened by Loss of Life in Madagascar Protests, Urges Dialogue

New York, Oct. 8 (Petra) – The United Nations said on Wednesday that Secretary-General António Guterres is closely following the situation in Madagascar and is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and destruction of property since the start of youth-led protests on September 25.
In a statement issued on his behalf, Guterres stressed that demonstrations must be conducted peacefully, with full respect for life, property, and the rule of law.
