Energy Minister Reviews Progress on Economic Modernization Vision Projects

Amman, Oct. 5 (Petra) – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Sunday reviewed progress reports with liaison officers from the energy and mining sectors regarding the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision (2026–2029) and achievement rates up to the end of September 2025.
Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of adhering to the vision’s targets and maintaining constant coordination with relevant partners to ensure timely completion of planned tasks. He stressed that the energy sector remains a key pillar in strengthening Jordan’s economy and enabling growth across all sectors.
The minister also underscored the private sector’s role as a main partner in executing the vision’s projects, contributing to economic growth and sustainable development.
According to the ministry’s vision liaison officers, a new model for project reporting cards has been adopted, and sector officers are currently being trained on proper data entry to ensure accuracy and streamline monitoring processes.
The second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision for the energy sector includes 28 priorities grouped under six initiatives. Activities monitored for September 2025 totaled 50, of which 80% are under implementation.
The ministry achieved its 2025 target for installing smart meters at a 91.3% completion rate and drilled 13 wells in the Risha gas field 10 by the Kuwait Drilling Company and 3 by the National Petroleum Company.
