Education Minister, British Embassy discuss cooperation in digital learning, AI

Amman, October 22 (Petra) – Minister of Education Dr. Azmi Mahafzah on Wednesday discussed with the British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in education and digital transformation fields.
Both sides highlighted the AI role in literacy and related educational applications.
Talking at the meeting held at the ministry's headquarters, Mahafzah noted the Ministry’s "rapid" integration of of AI tools to enhance student learning and the implementation of the BTEC vocational program in schools, offering 12 specializations this year and planning three more next academic year to meet labor market demands.
He added that Jordan hosts some 250,000 students from over 85 nationalities and remains committed to high-quality education for all, despite pressures from refugee inflows and regional challenges.
Mahafzah affirmed the Ministry’s "readiness" to support Syrian teachers and provide necessary training.
Ambassador Hall, in turn, praised Jordan’s efforts and emphasized continued support for initiatives to facilitate education for Syrian refugees, highlighting plans to build on achievements, taking into account Syria's current developments.
