Amman, Nov. 2 (Petra) -- Activities of a specialized event under the EuroMed Transport Aviation Project (ETAP) concluded in Amman on Sunday, focusing on aligning national aviation legislation with European Union regulations related to civil airport oversight.
According to a statement by the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), the event aimed to strengthen ongoing cooperation between Jordan and the European Union in civil aviation and to enhance the regulatory and legislative framework supporting air transport safety and security.
The event was implemented by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in collaboration with CARC’s Airport Oversight Directorate and representatives of the Kingdom’s civil airports.
Over the five-day sessions, participants reviewed frameworks governing the licensing of civil airports and related regulatory requirements. Discussions also covered risk-based oversight approaches, sector readiness, and key challenges, along with presentations on regulatory practices and legal frameworks applied within EU member states.
Within this context, CARC Chief Commissioner Dhaifallah Fraijat met with EASA experts and the operations manager of the EuroMed Transport Aviation Project to discuss outcomes of the event and review updates on upcoming program activities for next year.
This event is part of a series of initiatives implemented by the European Union at both national and regional levels to promote policy and regulatory harmonization among regional partners and advance the creation of a joint aviation area aimed at enhancing efficiency and safety across the air transport sector.
