Youth Minister Tours Irbid Facilities

Irbid, Oct. 22 (Petra) Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Wednesday toured several youth facilities and centers in Irbid Governorate to assess their conditions, identify key needs, and follow up on ongoing programs and activities.
Adwan began his visit at the Irbid Youth Directorate and the Youth House, where he met with department heads and youth center supervisors in the presence of Director of Irbid Youth Directorate Hamza Al-Oqaili and Director of Al-Hassan Youth City Naif Abu Roman. He inspected the directorate’s facilities and listened to feedback and requirements aimed at enhancing youth work in the governorate.
The minister continued his tour at the Naji Basha Al-Azzam Complex, reviewing progress on the new building for Al-Wastiyah Youth Center and emphasizing the importance of completing the project to the highest standards to provide a comprehensive youth environment.
Adwan also visited Al-Mazar Al-Shamali Youth Center, meeting center members and listening to their training needs, stressing the ministry’s commitment to implementing programs that meet youth needs and involve them in planning and program design under the 2026–2030 National Youth Strategy.
He later attended a ceremony at the Irbid Chamber of Industry organized by the Retired Athletes Association in support of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s positions in international forums and backing the Palestinian cause.
In his speech, Adwan said His Majesty King Abdullah II carries Jordan’s message to the world, defending Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian issue. He noted that under the King’s leadership, Jordan has rejected all alternative homeland projects, worked to stop the aggression on Gaza, and protected civilians, remaining a voice of justice in the region.
He highlighted the King’s comprehensive achievements in youth, sports, and infrastructure, underpinned by a reformist vision that values youth’s role in building a modern state, commending the Retired Athletes Association in Irbid for their national initiative reflecting values of giving and belonging.
Former Minister of Government Communication Faisal Shboul praised athletes for their influential role in supporting the modernization and development initiatives led by His Majesty the King and shaping public opinion on national issues. He also emphasized the King’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, combining diplomatic efforts with humanitarian aid.
Deputy President of the association Fouad Hajji said loyalty to the throne and belonging to the homeland are boundless, with dedication and sacrifice forming the essence of active citizenship, keeping Jordan a symbol of stability, security, peace, and advocacy for Arab causes.
The event featured a documentary highlighting the King’s stances in local, regional, and international forums defending Arab causes, alongside a patriotic poem by Hussein Al-Turk celebrating pride in the Hashemite leadership, the nation, and its security institutions.
During an unannounced visit, Adwan toured the Jerash Sports Complex, inspecting youth and sports facilities and calling for updates to ensure sustainability and improve services, outlining the ministry’s plan to develop youth and sports infrastructure to meet youth needs and host events.
