Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra) -- A delegation of Syrian businessmen on Thursday toured factories in the East Amman Industrial Zone to learn about developments in Jordan’s packaging industry, its quality standards, and competitiveness in export markets.

The visit, organized by the East Amman Industrial Investors Association (EAIIA) in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), included Al Shurook for Printing and Packaging, Jordan Star Plastic, and Crystal Packing Systems.

The delegation was briefed on industrial practices, advanced technologies, and the expertise of Jordanian companies in offering innovative solutions for local and regional markets. It also reviewed strategies to boost competitiveness and expand global exports.

Chairman of (EAIIA) Iyad Abu Haltam, presented the role of the association in supporting industries and investment opportunities in the zone.

Meanwhile, board member Faraj Tawil highlighted the sector’s growth in technology and quality, stressing its role in sustaining supply chains and promoting Jordanian products abroad.

UNIDO representatives stated that the visit falls under the "Revitalizing the Agro-Food Industries Sector in Syria" project, which supports Syrian companies, enhances food security, and promotes regional integration.

The delegation praised Jordan’s industrial progress, particularly in printing and packaging, and called for continued cooperation to serve the economic interests of both countries.
