Amman, November 19 (Petra) – Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa on Wednesday inaugurated a specialized workshop on the digital monitoring and assessment system for social protection systems and plans.
Organized by the ministry in partnership with the Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League, the event saw "broad participation" from representatives of social affairs ministries in several Arab countries.
During the opening ceremony, Bani Mustafa highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives to adopt a "comprehensive" digital transformation approach in the public sector, aimed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability, and provide scientific tools for data-driven and knowledge-based decision-making.
Within the framework of this national vision, she noted the Ministry of Social Development is working on implementing a package of "pioneering" initiatives that have "significantly" advanced the digital transformation of the social protection sector.
The ministry, she stated, is working on developing a national digital system to monitor and assess the National Social Protection Strategy (2025–2033).
The minister added that this system aims to unify monitoring tools and link them to national performance indicators to "accurately" track progress, assessment of the social impact of programs and initiatives, and steer public policies on reliable data and a comprehensive scientific approach.
Additionally, she said this Amman-hosted event represents a "key" milestone in joint Arab cooperation and also provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and enhance coordination among member states in developing monitoring, follow-up, and assessment frameworks for social protection systems.
The minister also expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Arab League in supporting joint Arab action and organizing this important workshop.
