Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) – The Ministry of Environment signed a cooperation agreement with Junaid Municipality on Wednesday to complete the second phase of the Sakhra Environmental Park and ensure its sustainability. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to develop environmental and tourist sites and improve services for visitors.

According to a ministry statement, the agreement covers a range of development projects within the park, including the installation of a solar energy system, new sanitary facilities, internal walkways and pavements, and lighting poles, all in line with environmental sustainability standards. Junaid Municipality will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and sustaining the park and its facilities.

Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman emphasized that the agreement supports the ministry's efforts to enhance environmental sustainability and assist municipalities in developing natural sites.

He noted that implementing the second phase of the Sakhra Environmental Park will improve services for visitors and promote ecotourism. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with municipalities in preserving the environment and serving local communities.

Ahmed Gogazeh, head of the Junaid Municipal Committee, said the agreement provides strong support for municipal efforts in developing the park. He added that cooperation with the Ministry of Environment will strengthen infrastructure and enhance services to benefit residents and visitors.
