Jordan, Switzerland Discuss Bolstering Bilateral Ties, Regional Developments

Amman, Oct. 22 (Petra) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi met Wednesday evening with head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis.
The meeting covered ways to enhance bilateral relations and developments in the region.
Both ministers emphasized their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors.
Safadi underscored the importance of consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, removing all obstacles to humanitarian aid access, and advancing toward a second phase of the ceasefire that leads to a genuine political horizon capable of launching effective efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
The ministers also reviewed the latest developments in Syria. Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the Syrian government’s reconstruction efforts on foundations that ensure Syria’s unity, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens.
Safadi and Cassis agreed to continue coordination and maintain joint efforts to serve the interests of the two friendly countries across all areas.
