Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) The Jordan INGO Forum (JIF) last week completed the first round of its "Syrian Voices Dialogues Series," held from Nov. 9 to 13, 2025, with the participation of 200 Syrians residing across five Jordanian governorates.
According to a JIF statement on Wednesday, the sessions created inclusive spaces for Syrians in Jordan to engage directly with international donors, supporting organizations and members of the local community. Participants discussed challenges, possible solutions and future prospects, as well as reflections on return and reintegration in Syria.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to convene. "This is the first time people have come to speak with us in this way and to listen to us sincerely," said a young Syrian woman living in Zarqa Governorate.
They highlighted the central role played by governments, community institutions and non-governmental organizations as primary providers of support and services, stressing the need for continued assistance.
"There are many innovative ways to address the issues we are hearing about, but we need new approaches, and we must work together more effectively to face shared challenges and that begins with listening," said Alice Kennedy, representing JIF.
The sessions featured exchanges of difficult stories and experiences, alongside accounts showing how people are working together to improve their communities.
The series underscored Jordan’s firm commitment to enabling the provision of comprehensive services for vulnerable groups and the numerous opportunities to strengthen coordination and cooperation in support of the future of the refugee response and local communities in the Kingdom.
Participants thanked the Forum’s member organizations that made the sessions possible: Zahum Charity Association (Karak); Collateral Repair Project (Amman); Jabal Zamzam (Mafraq); Nartaqi Center for Sustainable Development (Irbid); and Naya Community Network (Zarqa).
