Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on Wednesday strongly condemned the entry of the Israeli prime minister and a number of ministers and officials from the extremist Israeli government into the territory of sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, calling it a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, a grave breach of international law, and a dangerous escalation that will only fuel further conflict and tension in the region.
Ministry spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali said the Kingdom rejects and firmly denounces this serious infringement on the sovereignty of an Arab state, describing it as an unacceptable and provocative escalation. He stressed the need to halt all Israeli actions that undermine Syria’s security and stability, noting that such measures violate the UN Charter and Israel’s obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Al-Majali reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Syria, its security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to cease its unlawful provocations and end its occupation of Syrian territory, while ensuring full respect for international law and relevant UN resolutions.
