Amman, Sept 16 (Petra) – The latest edition of the Official Gazette published amended import regulations for 2025, set to take effect on November 1.
Under the new rules, vehicles classified in their country of origin as "Salvage" or "Junk," as well as those that have sustained severe damage such as fire or flooding, are prohibited from being imported.
The amendments also ban the import of small electric passenger cars that are more than three years old, including the year of customs clearance.
"Salvage" vehicles are those that suffered major damage in their country of origin and were deemed unfit for use but repairable, while "Junk" vehicles are beyond repair and considered scrap, usable only for spare parts.
The instructions were issued in line with Cabinet Resolution No. 4307, dated June 28, 2025.
