Industry Minister, US Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Economic Cooperation

Amman, Nov. 5 (Petra) – Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah and United States Ambassador to Jordan Jim Holtsnider discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and maximize the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.
According to a ministry statement, the meeting focused on advancing trade and investment relations under the agreement, which has been in effect for about 25 years and has significantly boosted Jordanian exports to the United States and enhanced the Kingdom’s investment appeal.
Jordanian exports to the United States market reached $3.12 billion last year, marking a 13 percent increase compared to 2023, while imports from the United States stood at $1.88 billion.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination to expand trade opportunities and improve access for Jordanian products to the United States market.
Qudah highlighted the government’s efforts to advance economic development through the Economic Modernization Vision and underscored the United States’ vital support for Jordan’s development programs and projects, which has helped mitigate the effects of regional and global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
