Jordan, France talk economic and investment cooperation

Amman, Nov. 10 (Petra) – Minister of Investment, Tareq Abughazaleh, on Monday met with French Ambassador to Jordan, Franck Gellet, to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s directives to deepen international partnerships and expand investment opportunities in priority sectors under the economic modernization vision.
Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the deep Jordanian-French relations and the need to build on the outcome of a visit to France by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, which opened new avenues for cooperation in economic sectors, investment and innovation.
He noted that the ministry is seeking to enhance the business environment through legislative updates and investment facilitation, adding that 52 French companies are registered in Jordan with a capital of over JD1.1 billion, reflecting confidence in Jordan’s economy and promising opportunities across various sectors.
For his part, Gellet commended the friendship and cooperation between Jordan and France, praising the economic reforms to improve the investment climate.
He pledged Paris’ commitment to supporting Jordan’s economic and investment development process and enhancing bilateral cooperation in renewable energy, water, technology, and innovation sectors.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation under the Jordan-European Partnership, particularly in green transition, digital economy, and sustainable infrastructure, with emphasis on institutional cooperation to deepen economic ties between Jordan and the European Union.
