Amman, November 2 (Petra) – Director General of the Jordan Customs Brig Gen Ahmed Akalik participated in the International Halal Forum 2025 in Brazil, with broad participation from countries around the world, including several Arab nations.

The event aimed to strengthen cooperation in halal trade and promote the exchange of expertise.

In his remarks, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira highlighted the depth of Arab-Brazilian relations and the growing volume of trade between the two sides.

He praised the role of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Islamic Institutions in fostering these partnerships and enhancing economic and cultural cooperation.

Brazilian Vice President and Minister of Trade Geraldo Alckmin reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to expanding collaboration with Arab countries in the halal economy and investment fields.

For his part, Akalik showcased the advanced services provided by Jordan Customs to global traders and investors, noting the use of cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, implemented in partnership with Brazil under an agreement with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

He said Jordan is ready to serve as a regional hub for trade between Arab countries and Brazil, supporting cross-border projects that advance shared economic interests.

On the sidelines of the forum, Akalik met with officials from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Santos to discuss ways to enhance coordination and facilitate trade for investors and merchants, reinforcing economic cooperation between Jordan and Brazil.
