Amman, Oct. 5 (Petra) – The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has completed maintenance works on the Jafr–Al-Husseiniya road through the Ma’an Public Works Directorate, 20 days ahead of the contractual deadline, at a total cost of JD175,000 funded centrally from the ministry’s budget.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the work included repairing damaged sections of the road by milling and repaving using hot asphalt mix, in addition to thermal paint marking along a 3-kilometer stretch starting from the Jafr Air Base toward the Al-Husseiniya area.
The project also involved installing necessary warning and guidance signs along the road. The ministry’s Traffic Safety Directorate manufactured and installed these signs according to approved technical specifications to enhance road safety and reduce traffic accidents.
It added that this project is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to maintain and sustain the national road network across the Kingdom through centrally allocated annual budgets. The initiative aims to ensure infrastructure sustainability, improve road safety standards, facilitate the movement of citizens and vehicles, and support economic and social development in targeted areas.
