Issawi Checks on Royal Initiatives Projects in Mafraq Governorate

Mafraq, Sept. 25 (Petra) - In line with Royal directives to turn initiatives into tangible projects that directly impact citizens’ lives, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court and Head of the Committee to Follow Up on the Implementation of Royal Initiatives, Yousef Issawi, conducted an inspection tour Thursday on several Royal initiative projects in Mafraq governorate.

The projects, launched under Royal guidance, aim to strengthen social stability, improve local services, and provide job opportunities and sources of income for local communities.

Issawi began his tour by checking on progress at Balama housing project for underprivileged families, which provides 15 prefabricated concrete units, with 45 percent of work completed. He was accompanied by Mafraq Governor Firas Abu Ghanam, Balama Municipality Committee Chairman Yanal Haobash, and Social Development Ministry Assistant Secretary-General Ali Abdel-Hafez.

In his second stop, Issawi inspected construction of a public park in Balama, one of four ordered by His Majesty the King in Mafraq. Covering 3,800 square meters, the park is 55% complete and will feature walking paths, a futsal pitch, seating areas, climbing facilities, shaded spaces, and two safe play zones with sand and rubber flooring.

The third stop was in Khaldiya, Issawi inspected another housing project for underprivileged households, consisting of 20 prefabricated concrete units, with a 92 percent completion rate. The project falls within the Royal housing program that includes 1,300 units nationwide, 100 of which are designated for Mafraq and another 100 for the Northern Badia.

As for the final leg of his tour in Mughayer Al-Sarhan in the Northwestern Badia, Issawi visited the upgraded dairy plant of the Desert Aroma Cooperative Society. Developed under the Royal initiative to support the cooperative sector, the project aims to boost local living standards and create jobs.

The plant now employs five people permanently, supports 31 cooperative members, and has been equipped with new machinery, a refrigerated truck, and cold storage facilities to increase production and diversify dairy products.

Issawi heard from the cooperative’s head, Abdul Mahdi Sarhan, on current achievements made accessible under the initiative, including international partnerships for training and SME support. The plant also received a quality certification from the Royal Scientific Society, enabling participation in festivals and exhibitions.

Speaking to the press, Issawi said Royal initiatives represent an "integrated approach" that embodies His Majesty’s "commitment" to safeguarding citizens’ dignity and ensuring decent living standards for underprivileged families.

He added that the projects in Khaldiya, Balama, and Mughayer Al-Sarhan are proof that Royal initiatives continue to turn vision into reality, which enhance social stability and support national development. He called for meeting deadlines and adhering to the "highest standards in project delivery." //Petra// AO
