Iraqi Delegation Visits Agricultural Credit Corporation

Amman, Oct. 23 (Petra) -- An official delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture visited the Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) on Wednesday to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in supporting and developing the agricultural sector.
ACC Director General Mohammad Dugan welcomed the delegation and underlined the importance of such meetings in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries.
He highlighted the ACC’s role in supporting farmers and financing agricultural projects to achieve food security and promote sustainable agricultural development.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the ACC’s experience in providing soft loans to farmers and the mechanisms used to finance small and medium-sized agricultural projects.
Discussions also covered common challenges facing the agricultural sector in the region and ways to improve financing tools to meet farmers’ needs.
Deputy Director General Mohammed Smadi reviewed the corporation’s history, development, and current activities, including loans, support for entrepreneurial projects, and contributions to agricultural infrastructure development.
At the end of the meeting, the Iraqi delegation expressed appreciation for the ACC’s expertise in agricultural lending and emphasized the importance of benefiting from its experience to develop agricultural financing programs in Iraq. Both sides agreed to maintain coordination and exchange visits.
