Amman, Nov. 10 (Petra) – The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission held a consultative meeting on Monday as part of the preparatory phase for its National Strategy for 2026–2030, with the participation of representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society organizations, and religious leaders.
Commission Board Member Hazem Majali underlined the importance of the meeting in fostering consultation and cooperation among the Commission, state institutions, the private sector, and civil society, in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He noted that the meeting marks a key step in formulating the new strategy, which seeks to build a national system based on transparency, accountability, and sustainability, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of upholding the rule of law.
Majali stated that the Commission had adopted evidence-based planning by assessing the previous strategy, reviewing challenges, and identifying future opportunities through participatory workshops involving various sectors, with the goal of enhancing institutional performance and public trust.
He added that the meeting aimed to broaden national engagement and gather insights to ensure the new strategy reflects the aspirations of Jordanian society, highlighting the inclusion of Islamic and Christian religious leaders.
Majali stressed that combating corruption is a shared national responsibility that requires fostering a culture of integrity across sectors and reinforcing trust through fair procedures and effective accountability.
The meeting reviewed the updated vision and mission of the strategy, which envisions "a prosperous Jordan, a jewel of integrity, where society’s trust in its institutions and achievements is renewed." The mission focuses on "a public administration that operates through integrated partnerships to protect public funds, safeguard national achievements, and promote integrity and justice." The strategy will feature updated legislation, digital tools, artificial intelligence, and corruption risk management systems, alongside accessible and secure reporting mechanisms, positioning Jordan as a leading model in anti-corruption efforts regionally and internationally.
It also adopts eight core values: integrity, transparency, accountability, efficiency, justice, cooperation, active citizenship, and sustainability, principles aimed at strengthening oversight, promoting fairness, empowering participation, and managing resources responsibly for future generations.
