Madaba, Oct. 2 (Petra) -- The German Jordanian University has made a significant stride in innovation and sustainability by earning a Special Recognition Award at the fifth UAE Energy Awards (EEA) for its pioneering "Energy Innovation Platform," developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The award was presented during the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) in Dubai, with Ayman Al-Bataineh, the platform’s founder and project lead, accepting the honor alongside Bushra Al-Abadi, Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the ministry.

This accolade highlights the university’s commitment to bridging practical education with industry needs, delivering cutting-edge solutions that improve energy efficiency and promote smarter consumption. The platform fosters a dynamic learning environment where students engage directly with the industrial sector under expert guidance.

Al-Bataineh emphasized that the success of this initiative stems from a strong partnership between academia, government, and industry, showcasing Jordan’s potential to drive sustainable development and advance towards a low-carbon future.

The UAE Energy Award, a prestigious regional and international competition, received over 240 entries from 24 countries in its latest edition.

Winning alongside global leaders like the Emirates Airlines, the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, and the Saudi Electricity Company, this achievement marks a proud moment for Jordan, the university, and the project team.
