Amman, Oct. 14 (Petra) -- Soft autumn winds and mild afternoons will linger across the country through Thursday, before warmer, autumn-like conditions take hold on Friday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

On Tuesday, the weather will be mild over the highlands and moderate in the rest of the regions, with easterly winds turning northwesterly by the afternoon.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring steady, comfortable conditions, featuring mild temperatures over elevated areas and moderate weather elsewhere. Northwesterly winds will remain light to moderate.

By Friday, temperatures will edge upward slightly, ushering in pleasant autumn weather across most regions and relatively warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Medium and high clouds are expected to appear, while northeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow at a moderate pace.

Temperature readings for Tuesday show highs and lows of 27 and 14 degrees Celsius in East Amman, 25 and 12 in West Amman, 23 and 11 in the northern highlands, and 24 and 10 in the Sharah highlands.

In desert areas, temperatures will range between 30 and 12 degrees, while the plains are expected to record 27 and 13 degrees. The northern Jordan Valley will see 33 and 17 degrees, compared to 34 and 23 degrees in the southern Jordan Valley.

Around the Dead Sea, temperatures will reach 35 and 23 degrees, and 35 and 22 degrees in Aqaba.
