Australian Envoy Visits Petra to Promote Cultural, Tourism Cooperation

Petra, Dec. 21 (Petra) – Chief Commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Fares Breizat on Sunday discussed with Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Paula Ganly, ways to enhance joint cultural and tourism cooperation to promote Petra as a "global" tourist destination.
Welcoming the Australian ambassador during her visit to the archaeological city of Petra, Breizat highlighted the "deep" ties between Jordan and Australia.
During the visit, Ganley was briefed on Petra’s historical and civilizational significance as a key world archaeological and tourist site, focusing on the authority’s efforts to preserve heritage, achieve sustainable tourism management, and enhance the visitor experience.
Touring Petra's key landmarks, the diplomat praised the city's "unique" heritage and human value, commending the level of organization and visitor services.
