Amman, Dec. 15 (Petra) – Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Saman, said the ministry has begun implementing technical measures to follow up on the Cabinet’s directive to tender the preparation of studies, engineering designs, and tender documents for multiple projects within the Amra City development.

Abu Saman noted that ministry teams will ensure comprehensive and precise studies and designs to meet the highest engineering and technical standards.

He highlighted that the Amra City project represents a key national initiative aligned with the government’s vision for modern urban planning, aiming to integrate developmental, economic, and demographic objectives, provide advanced infrastructure, generate employment opportunities, and stimulate investment in priority sectors, particularly sports tourism.

The planned motorsports facility is expected to enhance the national economy and elevate Jordan’s position in sports tourism. Abu Saman emphasized that the designs will be flexible and adaptable to future expansion in line with international standards, without imposing additional obligations on the state during initial phases.

The Ministry explained that the project includes a specialized motorsports venue featuring a high-specification race track, a go-kart track for amateurs and training, and recreational activities. The facility is designed to support specialized sports, promote sports tourism, and attract regional and international events.

Preparatory work encompasses integrated engineering and architectural designs, adhering to international best practices and approved safety standards, with emphasis on operational efficiency, economic feasibility, local materials, and environmentally sustainable solutions.

Designs will respect the local character and identity, ensuring a safe and comprehensive experience for participants and visitors, alongside full preparation of tender documents and implementation plans. The project layout will accommodate future upgrades to meet global motorsport standards, without committing to specific expansions at this stage.
