Amman, Dec. 16 (Petra) -- Temperatures are forecast to dip slightly on Tuesday, bringing cold, cloudy, and intermittently rainy conditions across most regions. Rainfall may become briefly heavy in some areas and could be accompanied by thunder and hail.
As evening approaches, rain chances are expected to ease, while fog is likely to form, particularly over high mountain areas and parts of the plains. Winds will blow from the west to northwest at moderate speeds, becoming active at times.
The Jordan Meteorological Department warned of the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. The Department also cautioned against reduced visibility due to fog, especially over mountainous regions and parts of the plains, as well as slippery road conditions in areas experiencing rainfall.
Another slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Wednesday, with cold, foggy, and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions prevailing across most regions. Showers are expected in southern areas and in limited parts of the central regions, with some rainfall possibly becoming heavy for short periods and accompanied by thunder and hail.
There is also a chance of rain mixed with snow during the early morning hours over high southern mountain peaks above 1,600 meters. Winds will remain moderate from the northwest, becoming active at times, while rainfall is expected to weaken gradually by evening and night.
Cold weather is expected to continue on Thursday and Friday across most regions, while milder conditions prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High clouds will appear at intervals, and northwesterly winds will remain moderate.
Tuesday’s temperatures range between 13 C and 5 C in East Amman and 11 C and 3 C in West Amman. The northern highlands are forecast at 11 C–4 C, the Sharah highlands at 10 C–2 C, desert regions at 14 C–3 C, and the plains at 13 C–5 C.
In the Jordan Valley, temperatures will reach 18 C–9 C in the north and 20 C–12 C in the south, while the Dead Sea is expected at 21 C–10 C and Aqaba at 20 C–11 C.
