Amman, Dec 13 (Petra)- A United Nations fact-finding committee on Saturday visited Syria’s Quneitra province as part of its mandate to document violations committed by Israeli occupation forces against civilians and their property in the area.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the committee is holding meetings during the visit with a number of affected civilians to assess the extent of damage resulting from Israeli attacks, in addition to collecting testimonies and field information in preparation for official reports to be submitted to relevant UN bodies.

Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through incursions into the rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa and attacks on civilians and their property. Syria has repeatedly renewed its calls for the implementation of United Nations resolutions and an end to the Israeli occupation of Syrian territory, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities in deterring these unlawful practices.
