Sri Lanka Death Toll From Cyclone Ditwah Floods Rises to 643

Amman, Dec 14 (Petra)- Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said on Sunday that the death toll from floods and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah, which recently struck the country, has risen to 643, while 184 people remain missing.
The Sri Lankan News Agency reported that 2.3 million people were affected by the cyclone, while around 75,000 people are still living in state-run shelters. Authorities have estimated the total cost of damage at about $7 billion.
