UJ's Tourism Management Department Earns UN Accreditation

Amman, Nov. 9 (Petra) – The Department of Tourism Management at the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan has received the United Nations Tourism TedQual international academic accreditation certificate from the United Nations Tourism Organization, recognizing the high quality of education and the distinguished academic environment it offers its students.
According to a university statement issued on Sunday, University President Nathir Obeidat said that the accreditation reflects the university’s firm commitment to developing its academic programs in line with the highest international standards and underscores the quality of its educational outcomes in the field of tourism.
Obeidat noted that the university is dedicated to providing an innovative learning environment that enhances students’ capabilities and equips them to lead the tourism sector efficiently and effectively. He described the accreditation as a significant milestone in the university’s pursuit of international recognition and in strengthening the competitiveness of its graduates in the job market.
For his part, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism Ismail Abu Amoud said that the department received a score of 82 out of 100 following a comprehensive evaluation based on precise criteria, including students, curricula, partnership with the tourism sector, management and faculty efficiency, and adherence to the tourism code of ethics.
