Amman, Dec. 18 (Petra) -- The Royal Naval Force and Royal Boats Command on Wednesday held a specialized workshop on the protection of tortoises and sea turtles, in cooperation with the Jordan Society for the Conservation of Turtles and Tortoises.
The workshop aimed to transfer knowledge and enhance specialized skills in environmental tracking and monitoring, maritime incident response mechanisms, and the review of international best practices in conserving sensitive marine ecosystems, particularly in the Gulf of Aqaba. Experts from other countries took part in the event.
The workshop was organized in line with the national strategy to achieve a balance between sustainable development requirements and the preservation of natural resources. The Gulf of Aqaba is considered a unique marine environment rich in coral reefs and rare marine life that requires continuous care and protection.
The initiative reflects an integrated model combining the security and national role of the Royal Naval Force and Royal Boats Command with environmental and community-based efforts.
