Amman, Nov. 18 (Petra) - The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Sunday condemned as "incendiary and reprehensible" the remarks made by Israel’s extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, calling his statements a direct incitement against the Palestinian leadership and a blatant threat to the legitimate representatives of the Palestinian people.

Ministry spokesperson Fares Majali said Jordan "categorically rejects" the continued stream of racist and provocative statements by senior members of the Israeli government, issued in parallel with escalating measures in the occupied West Bank and mounting pressures that further strain the Palestinian economy and daily life.

Majali cautioned that such actions risk driving the situation toward dangerous escalation, undermining the security and stability of the entire region.

He urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by pressing Israel to halt its dangerous policies and inflammatory rhetoric, and to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to an independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital - the indispensable foundation for a just and comprehensive peace.
