Irbid, Oct. 14 (Petra) -- Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI)'s general assembly members held a meeting on Tuesday with Jordanian-American Business Council (JABC) to introduce the council’s objectives and activities.
Talking at the meeting, ICI Director General Nidal Al-Sadr said the dialogue aligns with the chamber’s efforts to open new export markets for local manufacturers.
He noted the US market is among the world’s largest and that the current tariff structure supports growth in Jordanian exports to the United States.
Al-Sadr emphasized that Jordanian products are known for their "high quality and adherence to standards," adding that strengthening Jordan’s participation in international exhibitions is "key" to boosting exports and diversifying target markets.
For his part, JABC President Tarek Al-Hassan said the non-profit council which has branches in Jordan and other Arab, Asian, and African countries, aims to expand opportunities for Jordanian industries to access the US market, one of the largest globally.
He stated the council covers a "wide" range of sectors including engineering, investment, education, energy, tourism, medicine, agriculture, culture, innovation, real estate, transport, logistics, and manufacturing.
Al-Hassan added that the council facilitates direct business linkages between Jordanian and US companies to enhance exports, expand operations, and generate more employment opportunities.
He noted that membership in the council enables Jordanian firms to export their products and be treated as US-registered companies owned by foreign investors, which lowers their tax burden and allows them to benefit from grants and bid for public tenders in the United States.
Al-Hassan invited Jordanian companies to strengthen their presence in the US market and showcase the quality and competitiveness of Jordanian products by participating in a Jordanian industries exhibition scheduled for September 2026 in the United States.
