Amman, Nov. 13 (Petra) – The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on Thursday strongly condemned the continued terrorist attacks carried out by extremist Israeli settlers against Palestinians, most recently the arson attack on the Hajja Hamida Mosque in the Salfit Governorate in the occupied West Bank, holding Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for these crimes.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Fuad Majali, said the Kingdom categorically rejects these repeated attacks, describing them as an extension of the extremist policies of the Israeli government and the inflammatory statements of its officials, which fuel hatred, extremism, and violence against the Palestinian people.
Majali warned that the ongoing settler assaults, along with continued violations and restrictions imposed on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, threaten to trigger further escalation and undermine regional stability.
He called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to halt its dangerous escalation and settler violence. Majali stressed the need to enable the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, foremost the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, considered the only path toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures regional security and stability.
